PHOTOWALK

            Outdoor activities are one of the beautiful activities that we can experience in our life. We can do everything on it. One of the greatest examples of outdoor activity is photo walk. Photo walk is kind of outdoor activities were a person who involves here is taking a picture while they continue on walking in a particular place.

            Last September 6, 2013, our section the MCT-2A had a photo walk with the guide of our instructor in Photography Mr. Dominic Meily and some of his groupmates in Photoville. Our photo walks were held in one of the most famous place in the Philippines and it is in Intramorous. Mr. Dominic Meily decided to choose Intramorous because he knows that in we can see many beautiful subjects that we take good shots in that place.

            Our activity started with a group picture and the same time assigning of group mates. And all of us looks excited and have joy inside there hearts. After that we start our walk, in our group, were four including our instructor who guides us. Every group had there own destine place that going to occupied. While we start our walk our instructor orient and asked us what our purpose or what shot that we aim in our photo walk. Then, he let us borrow his own camera that our groupmates going to used. I’m feeling so lucky because all of us in our group have a camera unlike the other there going to share there camera.

            When we enter the place at first I confuse because the place is so beautiful like the description that Mr. Meily told us, but as time goes by, I make my mind comport and make myself focus to my objective. After that, I have seen many beautiful subjects and keep on taking shots of it. And I encounter people, different people as well. While I’m taking a picture I apply what our instructor thought us how to take a good shots. I focus in taking a picture having elements of pattern and portrait shots. After a few hours ago I have already take plenty of shots. I continue and continue a taking a shots even if is so hot in street. When the sun is sinking in, all of the groups to have a bay walk, after that the entire group is already congregate and all of us was so look haggard but have a smile in every face and excited to expose our own shots to each other. And all of us are proud to show there shots and as I expected that moment is full of laugh. After that moment, all of us have a group picture. Then, we have a group meeting. Lastly, we are already going home.

            I’m so happy because I’m one of the lucky people who experience a great opportunity like this. I hope more great experience to come.

PNK EXPERIENCE

Great Experience

            One of my greatest experiences is when we go to Apalit to celebrate our quarterly international thanksgiving or what we called PNK (Pasalamat ng Katawan) of the MCGI (Members of the Church of God International) headed by Bro. Eliseo Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon.

            We arrived at the convention one day ahead of the event. Many of the brethren were busy fixing their tent and others were going around the convention with their friends and relatives. Me and my family when we came to convention, we are busy on fixing our tent. After that, I seek my classmates then like what others do, we also keep on turning around the convention, every people that I encountered, I feel the excitement in their faces. After that day, is start of the celebration of the International Thanksgiving. The convention filled by brethren. And I feel that all of us are excited to give thanks to God because of another great opportunity that He give us to praise and glorify His name.

            In my part, I’m very happy and I just want to thank God for His care and guidance through all the years. There is always a feeling that I cannot explain in every time that I listen to all the biblical topics that Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel teach us. All I can say is Thanks Be to God for his unspeakable gifts and To God Be the Glory Forever!

Unang Babaing naging Chief justice sa Pilipinas

                Nagdaos ng isang press conference si Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno noong Agosto 28, 2013 sa  De La Salle University sa Manila. Ito ang kauna unahang pagharap ng Chief Justice sa medya mula ng siya ay maupo sa pwesto.

            Si Chief Justice  Ma. Lourdes Sereno ang kauna unahang babaing naging chief justice dito sa ating bansa. Siya ay inihalal ng ating Pangulong Benigno Aquino noong nakaraang Agosto 16, 2012. Isang taon pa lang sa panunungkulan ang ating chief justice. Ayon kay Sereno, siya ay totoong independente sa humalal sa kanya na si Pnoy.

            Maraming dumalo sa unang press conference ng ating chief justice, kabilang na dito ang mga piling grupo ng mga medya at mga abogado para makapagtanong tungkol sa isyu na may kaugnayan sa kanyang propesyon. Maraming tinalakay  ang ating chief justice.

Pinasimulan niya ito sa pagbati sa mga dumalo. Sa kanyang pambungad na pananalita ay sinabi niya na ang press conference ay bahagi ng pagtugon sa mataas na korte para sa kalinawan ng Korte Suprema. Inilahad ni Sereno na, ito na ang panahon para baguhin ang imahe ng ating hudikatura sa paglalahad ng mga opinyon ng wala pang malinaw na ebidensya. At dagdag pa ni Sereno, gusto niya na magkaroon ng bahagi ang publiko sa pagpapaunlad ng hudikatura.

Sa pagtatapos ng kanyang pananalita ay tumanggap siya ng mga katanungan mula sa mga kabilang sa media panel. Naging maayos naman ang pagtugon ni Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno sa mga katanungan.(straight news)

ISKOLAR

            Isa sa mga hinahabol ngayon ng mga mag-aaral lalong lalo na ang mga mahihirap na gustong makapagtapos sa kanilang pag-aaral ay ang mapabilang sa pagiging iskolar. Ano nga ba ang iskolar? Bakit maraming mga mag-aaral  ang naghahangad na mapabilang dito? Ano nga ba ang pakinabang na maiidulot nito sa mga mag-aaral?

            Ang salitang iskolar ay may malawak na kahulugan. Pero para  sakin, higit pa sa malawak ang kahulugan nito. Higit pa sa salitang maraming kahulugan. Dahil ang salitang ito? Ay nagbigay ng magandang kahulugan sa aking buhay. Di lamang sakin kundi sa iba rin. Ang pagiging isang ganito ay nanganaghulugan nagbibigay pag-asa sa bawat isa.

            Marami  sa mga kabataang mangangaral ngayon ang nag-aasam  na mapabilang sa pagiging iskolar. Dahil ang mapabilang sa pagiging iskolar ay nagbibigay ng malaking kapakinabangan sa isang mag-aaral na kagaya ko. Hindi lang sa mga mag-aaral nagbibigay ito ng pakinabang pati na rin sa ating mga magulang. Malaking kaginhawaan ang naiidulot nito sa bawat magulang na mayroong iskolar na anak. Bukod sa bawas gastos ay nagbibigay pa ito ng inspirasyon sa bawat isang iskolar na magpursige sa kanilang  pag-aaral.

            Pero ang pagiging iskolar ay may kaakibat na responsibilidad, nanganagilangan ito ng disiplina sa sarili.

ISKOLAR. Matunog sa marami, kaunti ang nakakakamit. Ang salitang ito ay may malaki ding pakinabang. Napakagaling hindi ba? May kahulugan na nga, may pakinabang pa. At meron pa itong, importansya. Sa bawat mag-aaral na napapabilang sa pagiging iskolar ay ating pagbutihin at huwag nating sayangin ang pagkakataong magkaroon ng ganitong biyaya.Kaya ating pasikapang mapanindigan ang pagkakabit sa ating pagkatao ang pagiging iskolar.

GILAS LABAN KOREA

                Nagtagumpay ang Team Gilas sa laban nila sa kampo ng korea noong sabado Agosto, 2013 sa score na 86-79. Ginanap ang kanilang laro sa Mall of Asia Arena.

                Sa unang quarter ng laro ay lamang ang Korea sa Gilas sa puntos na 27-21 sa pangunguna Kim Joo-Sung ng Korea. Sa pagpapatuloy ng laro ay hindi nagkakalayo ang puntos ng Korea sa Gilas. Sa kagitnaan ng 2nd quarter ay nagtamo ng bali sa paa ang import ng Gilas na si Douhhit. Dahil sa pagka-injury ni Douthit ay malaking kawalan sa Gilas iyon. Kulang na sila sa depensa dahil sa malalaki ang kalaban. Hanggang sa matapos ang 2nd quarter ay patuloy pa rin ang lamang ng Korea kontra Gilas sa score na 39-36 sa pangunguna ni Kim Minggo ng Korea. Sa pagsapit ng 3rd quarter ay nag-iba ang ihip ng hangin, pumabor sa Gilas ang ikot ng bola sa sunod-sunod binitawan na puntos ng Gilas sa pangunguna nina Jayson Castro na ginamit ang kanyang bilis, si Ranidel De Ocampo at ang kanilang lang kapitan sa grupo na si Jimmy Alapag. Natapos ang  3rd quarter  na pabor sa Team Gilas sa score na 67-59. Nang magsimula na ang 4th quarter  ay naging mainit ang labanan ng dalawang grupo, ipinapakita nila na hindi magpapatalo ang bawat isa sa kanila. Naging dikit ang laban ng sa score na 74-73 sa pangunguna pa rin ng Gilas. Sa pagpapatuloy ng laban ay hindi na talaga pinagbigyan ng Gilas ang Korea sa pangunguna na naman ni Jayson Castro. Winakasan ng Gilas ang laro laban sa Korea sa Score na 86-79.

                Masaya sa pagkapanalo ang team ng Gilas laban sa Korea at kinabukasan ay isang laban nalang para makamit nila ang pagkakampyon sa Fiba Asia. (Straight News)

Yell Presentation.




            After Student Government Announced that we will having a yell competition , each section does a brain storming about what they need to do with it, I can truly say every section did their best to excel. And ofcourse, the section where I belong showed an amazing performance even the instructors was amazed to what we do. The Student Government did not declared who is the winner, however, I can say that our performance is very much better than the others, although they performed nicely but unfortunately we still stand. . At the end of the day, it was so fun, all of us enjoyed the competition, because each section had a comedian that led their team. All I can say is nice game and nice try.

Why I am here in La Verdad

At first part, I don't know what school I am going to enroll myself because it's hard to study at our time now. But, one time, my Uncle told me that he was going to inquire me unto a school related to his religion and he also told me that school was free. So, when I was inquired to that school, I was so happy because, one of the brethren of my Uncle in his religion help me to continue studying. And by the time that I already know that my application paper was accepted in that school. 

At first impression, I don't know if can have some friends in this school.I am thinking that they will always laugh at me because of my different accent. But, because of that different accent, it helps me to have friends more than that I expected.

For my own perspective, the reason behind on why I am here at La Verdad Christian College is to continue my studies. And also pursue my dreams. Although Mass Communication is not my preferred course, but I know this will help me to be a example of a successful person. Another reason is to learn things specially spiritual things. This institution is supported by a large religious group so-called "Ang Dating Daan" lead by Bro.Eli Soriano and Mr. Public Service, Kuya Daniel Razon. In this school, they teach us how to interact people in christian way, the way we act towards their attitudes and many more. 

In conclusion, having me here in La Verdad is something that is thankful to God. Thankful in the sense that I learned different things both academically and spiritually. Thanks be to God!

CL Week

Last January 28 to February 1, the La Verdad Christian College students and staff was celebrating our CL week. This event was very unique than the other event that we already celebrated on our school. And first time in our school having this kind of event. It was so amazing!

In the first day of celebrating the our Christian Living Week, all sections in all year level was presented their own yell or cheer to recognize their group. During the presentation, it's so funny, because all of the performance that had presented was on the spot that's why all of the presentation is not too good. That cause of the different comments and reactions coming from the audience. In the next day, all of the participants was busy for practicing or rehearsing all the activity that have presented in the competition. In the day of competition, all the participants was well-prepared to the said competition.

The competition was started with the Bible preaching, I feel happy because all the performance of the participants was nice. They acts like a professional preachers because of their overwhelming performance. Next is the quiz bee, in this competition, all the participants was so ready that's why the competition is too closed. And the next is the solo singing competition, all the audience was so noisy because of their cheering support to chosen participants. And then, it followed by the Choral Competition and Christian Dance Competition. All the performance of the participants in this competition is too good and nice to watched. And this event what we called the Christian Living Week with the so-called A Song Of Praise music festival in La Verdad Christian College version.

Who is Rupert Lou De Guzman?

“Past and Present Life”

When I was taking my interview to one of my classmates. I got inspired when he told me about his past and present life.

Rupert Lou De Guzman is a spell out student of La Verdad Chri8stian College. He is 20 years old of age. When he was young, he wanted to become a singer but now he wants to become a basketball player. All he wants to do now is to study hard and to finish his study because he knows that this is the only way to have a better future. Rupert was a trouble maker when he was not yet baptized to the Church of God International. But there’s a big change to his life when he was baptized to his present religion. He becomes responsible and kind to other people. Every time he has a problem, all he does is to kneel down and pray. He is a guest coordinator to his present religion. And he is proud to become a member of the Church of God International.

            Currently Rupert was enjoying his life despite of the hindrances he has encountered. He is still continuing his kindness and goodness to others.

Dear Kuya

Review:

            I was happy when I knew that there’s a new show that Kuya Daniel established at UNTV. That show was entitled “Dear Kuya”. This show is all about the story of every listeners that sent to the production because they wants to get an advice to there situation.This show is so interesting to listen. I was so joyful every time I listen to this show. It is a kind of show when you listen you can’t feel any boredom because every part of this show makes you interesting.

            Every story that was sent to the show was going to narrate by Kuya Daniel with his co-staff. They play the story as a radio drama and every episode done to the story has a corresponding advice coming from Bro. Eli Soriano. Proud to say that part of the show is my favorite part because when Bro. Eli gives an advice you can get a lesson that’s why I love to listen to this show. I absorb or learn a lot of lessons coming from the advice of Bro. Eli to every story that he listen. That’s why when you listen to this show Im sure you earn new lesson for every story that you going to listen.

            So, every lesson that we learn from the advice of Bro. Eli, we can use it to our daily lives as it goes by. I know that in our life we can’t say that there are no obstacles that come to us whether we like it or not those bad things like problems, struggles, trials, and hindrances will come and we can’t stop it that’s why when that time come to us we are or we can apply those advice that we learned from the show of “Dear Kuya”.

            But, always remember that all those things happen to us are for a reason and those problems help us to become strong enough to face our future life.

           

Reason to Believe

This song makes me inspired because the lyrics of the song give me a strength to face many trials in life.
When I'm listening to this song I feel that there is Someone who can help me to win in this battle and to finish my course He given to me with His help. The song tells us we must believe in Him and have faith because if we are separated to Him, there is nothing we can do. but on the counter part, if we believe in Him, we can do many things even the things seem too impossible to do.
If I have a problem I always play this song in my Mp3 player, because after I listened to this, I feel something good in my being.

Gadget Review

As the technology arises, people invented things that makes the work of the people easy. There are ways to communicate in which you don't need to send letters. Billions of people now use cellphones and internet to reach their loved ones.
But let us be wise in using technology products, these gadgets will benefit us if it is use in a right way. On the other hand, these gadgets will be harmful if not we property. It can lead us to distraction in our studies and can pollute our minds. Some students were hooked in using computer games that also result to negative impact.

A Song Review: I Won't Give Up

The song inspires me a lot because the lyrics states that no matter how hard we encounter on things we must never give up. There are times that people in our environment or even that closest one that we had gives us heartache and sorrow. Nevertheless giving up will never be a good choice. We must always keep in our hearts that God will not gives us trials we cannot endure. Let us just always pray on him and ask his mercy. As the saying goes, patience is a virtue. This will be the key to keep us. In fact, we must see to it that challenges in firm. Life is not that easy. We must carry tons of patience everyday, in order to keep going on. All this hardships shall pass so if we see that future is along the way let us look at the bright side of life.

Movie Review: 2012

All things in this world have its end. Even the world itself will soon perish. The film "2012" showed the world will end. Thinking of this sometimes troubles me because this film is possible to happen in real-life. This film wants to show to us that everything in this world that our eyes can see is temporary. "Nothing is permanent" as the old saying goes. Even our life will eventually meet its doom. That's why we should spend our life on something worthwile, do good deeds and serve our Creator. Life is so short, we should not devote our time on doing earthly things. We live not to eat and drink. We eat and drink to live.

The film "2012" is something prophetic. This film is inspired by the Mayan prophecy that the Mayan prophecy has added to the list of false prophecies. In fact, it is stated in the Bible that no man knows when the world will end nor the angels. Only God knows
